Bar Camino puts a fresh twist on Mexican-Latin food favorites, highlighting the influence of traditional Mexican ingredients and flavors throughout Latin America. The restaurant’s worldly take on Mexican cuisine includes dishes ranging from a traditional skirt steak ranchero plate to a refined King salmon with fresh plantains and cilantro rice.

Our décor combines contemporary and traditional aesthetics, with neon lights, a refinished cypress king’s table that seats twelve, and a patio featuring picnic-style tables with bright blue umbrellas.

The bar program is similarly eclectic, with a play on a dirty martini with tequila shaken tableside and tropical drinks featuring fresh strawberry, mango, and hibiscus flavors. Bar Camino will feature happy hour Monday through Friday – from 3-5 PM and a “reverse happy hour” Thur-Sat from 8 PM until close.

It is always a great experience. The food is amazing! The service is awesome. The owner is always there and so pleasant, as is his daughter and the rest of the staff. Our family goes there frequently and it’s just so consistently great!!

COMAL is a gathering place located in Berkeley’s bustling Arts District, just north of the Downtown Berkeley BART Station. The restaurant is housed in a single-story building (circa 1927) and features a lush, secluded rear patio with a full bar, covered dining area, and al fresco beer garden with fire pit.

Executive Chef Matt Gandin creates earthy, modern interpretations of dishes from throughout Mexico, with emphasis on Oaxaca and neighboring coastal regions. Nice spot for lunch. I had a lunch special - Caesar salad and jackfruit tacos. My friend had chilaquiles de pollo. The food was very good and the service was excellent. The noise level was such that I would have liked to sit outside, but this rainy day put a damper on outside dining. I'll definitely return on a warmer, dryer day.

Quickly seated even tho it was earlier then booked time. Moderate wait time for meal delivery as restaurant was busy for dinner crowd. Employees were friendly, fresh chips & Salsa & beverages were served promptly . Bar area was quite busy even tho it was 8 pm, televised local sports & our GSW Warriors were playing!
