As always, the service was fabulous. The room is classic Brit. The Dover Sole was dependably terrific. You can hear your table mates without shouting. It is a must for me in London

Bethnal Green
About the restaurant
The Water House Project is a modern British tasting menu experience in Bethnal Green, East London.

Chef Gabriel Waterhouse opened The Water House Project with his wife, Patricia in Bethnal Green in Autumn 2021 aiming to bridge the gap between fine dining elegance and a more relaxed, comfortable atmosphere.

Here the team serve a seasonally evolving tasting menu which changes every three months.

We rely on local, seasonal ingredients using these when at their best.

We believe in using small amounts of ethically and sustainably reared meat and fish, and partnering with suppliers who share in our values. Our drink pairings are made up of either wines, sourced from small scale producers or a non-alcoholic pairing of teas, tonics and ferments made by our kitchen team.

Seasons Discovery menu - Wednesday 7pm & Saturday 1pm
(£125pp including alcoholic or non alcoholic pairing)

Seasons Signature menu - Thursday - Saturday 7pm
(£155pp including alcoholic or non alcoholic pairing)

Beautiful food, beautiful people beautiful restaurant. A true culinary experience that is so intentional in its delivery. Each dish is explained by either the waiter or chef themselves, where staff take the time to get to know the diners whilst eating. It felt like we were at a big dinner party in their house and we were their guests for the night. With dinner starting at 7:00pm each course was plated and served to us at exactly the same time allowing us all to experience at the same time. Even choice of cutlery is specific and intentional allowing us the ability to capture taste and texture as the chef intends. This restaurant reminded me of an art expression, with food used rather than paint, where the chef uses food in clever well thought out ways to flex his creative ideas. For this reason the food is slightly on the expensive side, but due to the size of the restaurant and its chill intimate and private feel it makes sense. We dined for just over three hours, never felt rushed like in many other restaurants these days where you just feel like a number, and left happy & content. I would highly recommend. Thanks Gabriel and the Team.

About the restaurant
At Restaurant Story the premise is simple; we seek to tell our story through the food we serve.

We opened in April 2013 gaining our first Michelin star only five months after opening and in 2021 we were awarded our second Michelin star. Finally in 2023 we launched Story 3.0 hosting a 2nd floor.

Inspired by chef Tom Sellers’ culinary career and the history of British food, our dishes are an edible story, each one inspired by a memory. We want to share these memories with you through what you see, smell and taste.

To help achieve this, we select only the freshest seasonal British produce and then pair it with an exclusive wine list featuring small wine producers and select British craft ales sourced locally.

The entire experience was a dream from start to finish. The waiters were friendly and attentive, the service was so fluid. Our Sommelier was informative, knowledgeable and not pretentious so we felt comfortable asking more questions about the wine. We were given a tour of the venue so got to thank the chefs for the delicious meal - the potato custard was a particular highlight. We also got to see their new private dining space and would highly recommend it - beautiful balcony for summer cocktails with a view of the Shard and large dining space with your own kitchen!

About the restaurant
Michelin starred Frog by Adam Handling is a place to really submerge yourself in a theatrical show. You’re facing the kitchen, the chefs come to your table and you are able to really interact with every member of the team. Frog is luxury in an environment where you feel comfortable being whoever you are and where all elements in the restaurant are connected to offer a truly memorable experience.

The dishes are very emotional and they all mean something to Adam. Each and every one of the dishes has a story behind it, whether it’s a memory from Adam’s childhood or something that has inspired him or the team.
