Tapas / Small Plates
Penticton / Naramata
About the restaurant
Those behind Socialē by Villa Rosa have been offering consistently great food and wine from both B.C. and Italy for more than 15 years in Penticton. That food, which includes fresh, local produce, and wine complements the atmosphere and makes for an unforgettable experience.

Socialē, which is Okanagan family owned, is the cousin of Villa Rosa Ristorante, which is on hiatus. The soul of that restaurant will live on through Socialē. The Italian wine bar and coffee house has taken the best from Villa Rosa Ristorante and turned it into something even more unique and special.

Socialē is located at 950 Lakeshore Dr. W., in Penticton, mere steps from Okanagan Lake Beach.

About the restaurant
At Home Block Restaurant, we embrace the bounty of the Okanagan while our name pays homage to the Home Block Vineyard which surrounds us. Our building is crafted from fieldstone and 100-year-old reclaimed barn wood and our cuisine draws on those elemental roots. We integrate natural cooking methods like our wood-fired grill fueled by timber from local orchards and seasoned barrel staves. The result is honest, confident, and approachable food that unites flawlessly with CedarCreek wine.

About the restaurant
The Hooded Merganser was designed to provide guests with a lakeside experience like no other. Vaulted ceilings and floor to ceiling windows have made us the place to be during storm watching season. The outdoor patio is incredible during the warmer months. The menu features delicious Mediterranean dishes to perfection in the open kitchen. Enjoy the superb selection of hard-to-find Okanagan wines from our cellars. Tie up your boat at the marina and come in for a truly enjoyable time.

About the restaurant
Modern Vineyard Cuisine inspired by our Indigenous roots. We proudly sit on the traditional land of the Syilx People of the Okanagan Nation. Our inspiration for the name of our new signature restaurant comes from a chaptik story passed down through the generations of our First Nations people of the Okanagan.
The Syilx People of the Okanagan Nation approach to food is based on the creation stories of their culture and we’ve taken their stories as the inspiration for the name of our restaurant: “The Bear, The Fish, The Root & The Berry,” based on the story of the Four Food Chiefs.
The Four Food Chiefs are central: Skimxist Black Bear (chief of animals, representing self-sacrifice, leadership, giving), Ntytikxw Chinook Salmon (water creatures, perseverance, hard work), Speetlum Bitterroot (plants below the round, relationships to the land) and Seeya Saskatoon Berry (plants above ground, growth, strength, community) are legendary and the elements of indigenous cuisine.

Have eaten here a number of times in the past 5 years and they are certainly consistent. Good food and very good service. Menu items are creative but not over the top, and portions are generous. In winter it is a small space as the majority of their seating is on a huge patio which is obviously weather dependent. Many reviewers have mentioned pricing to which I would say this: first it's consistent with any resort hotel with the associated costs and obligations of operating in one. Second, there are perhaps four restaurants in Osoyoos that could be classified as fine dining and the Bear's pricing is fairly comparable. However, unlike two others the Bear is open every day, year round. BTW I don't work for the hotel - I just wanted to defend a favorite spot that I believe gets some unfair criticism!

I ordered the fetaccine Alfredo and my husband ordered the winter salad with blackened chicken. We were very pleased with our meals. Tasty, fresh, and filling. The staff were attentive. Even at night the view across the lake was stunning. We will be back again and again.
