   Great evening. Suggest a couple more vegetarian options. We had plenty of choices, but our vegetarian guest did not.

   A friend and I celebrated our birthdays at SOBA- always a great atmosphere. You never get drowned out by noise given the layout here with several small rooms/bars on two levels. We were seated at a table on the main level, and our server Matthew was outstanding in all respects! Loved our beverage choices which he helped us select. We shared 4 small plates, and our favorites were the mushroom spring rolls and the amazing short rib dumplings! Crab eggroll was good- we expected "lump crab" vs shredded white crabmeat but it tasted good. The spicy pork lettuce wrap was somewhat bitter for my friend, though I liked it (and ate most of it!). The small "birthday desserts" are perfect in every way (they make a larger version- don't pass it up!). Overall an excellent experience. I usually go to Soba for special menus, but this night the "regular" menu was just fine. Thanks to everyone!!

   From the welcoming host at the front desk to the food and the service, our group couldn't have asked for a better experience. The food was amazing, as always, and our server, Anna, was wonderful. She had an answer for any question posed to her -- she knows her stuff! I'm a repeat customer, and it won't be the last time I go to Soba!

   I love soba! Only negative-we brought our infant son and there are no changing tables in the male or female bathroom. Other than that, had a wonderful dinner and experience.

   Excellent Japanese-ish fusion in Shadyside Moxxie: “Hey, how about Soba?” xparxy: “Soba is never wrong.” Countless visits across many years: This upscale asian fusion bar/restaurant delivers consistently solid renditions on their seasonal menu which is supported by one of the better scratch bars in Pittsburgh. Staff is consistently gracious and atmosphere is warm. Highly recommended for dinner, light bites or even a cocktail to finish out the evening.

   I went to Soba to celebrate a birthday with a group of friends. On first.look at the menu, at least 3/4 of the dishes are marked as spicy. I am not a fan of spicy food, so I decided to try the smash burger. Huge mistake. First glance told me it was too big to take a bite, which means it's not a smash burger. When I picked it up to try to smash it myself the bottom bun was absolutely soaked. So I pulled the two patties apart to attempt to cut it and found 2 burned-to-a-crisp patties. Absolute charcoal briquettes, dry and inedible. The side salad was good and I had a taste of few appetizers (pork dumplings, edamame) which were fine. The wait staff was amazing, valet parking was a nice perk but I won't go back.
