   As a frequent sotto visitor and someone who consistently tells people Sotto is the best spot in Cincinnati, yes even over Jeff Ruby’s is what I have to follow it up with. I was pretty let down last night, we arrived a few minutes early for our 6:30 reservation and we weren’t seated until 7:00. At what seemed to be a makeshift table crammed between two brick pillars 3 feet from the register. For our wait we were given $4 dollars in free bread a menu item my wife doesn’t even like. The food was good and our server was good but if that was my first experience there I would be hard pressed to come back. I have rather mild expectations for a restaurant but sotto let ua down last night.

   A couple of the pasta dishes weren’t hot. But everything was still delicious.

   Tory was terrific. Food was fantastic. Background music really didn’t fit the ambiance. No question I am hard of hearing. But very difficult to vary conversation.

   Max was fantastic! Service and courses were timed impeccably, and everything was delicious. We had a wonderful time bringing first-time guests with us to celebrate their birthdays. They were as wowed by the entire experience as we expected they would be. We are so excited each time we have the opportunity to bring out-of-town guests to dine at Sotto.

   loved the entire experience! the ambiance was perfect. the brass candle stick holders + taper candles were *chefs kiss.* our server, nevarre, did an excellent job. really made our first sotto experience memorable. loved having a separate vegetarian menu! can’t wait to come back. x
