   We ate outside. It was a lovely night. The service was impeccable, bread, water and just enough attention without being imposing. Even the manager of the restaurant came over to us and we had a lovely conversation about how pasta should be cooked. Al dente. The steak was cooked perfectly.

   We showed up for our outdoor reservation only to be told that someone else was still at the table and we’d have to wait 20-30 minutes for outside seating. They then seated us in a corner table by the tennis courts where there were flies and small bugs all over the glass behind us, and the bugs flew over our table and into our food and wine constantly. I am very disappointed with our experience. It was disgusting to wave away bugs throughout the meal. We paid a premium for the atmosphere but were seated in an awful alternative. The woman at the reservation desk was not understanding either. She was like, “they’re still at the table, what do you want us to do?” versus “I’m so sorry, I know you booked outside seating well in advance.” I have a horrible memory of this place and all the bugs, and I wish we never went.

   Spencer's is one of our favorite spots in the area. The food and the service are always first rate and the setting is delightful.

   We always enjoy Spencer’s - dependably good food, friendly and professional service and great bang for the buck. We used to enjoy dining in the enclosed outdoor area under the trees, but we now much prefer the outdoor dining area beyond the enclosed area - more space between the tables and a more open feeling altogether. Another excellent dinner!

   Unfortunately our waiter was very inattentive. Our drinks sat at the bar for ten minutes. We were never asked how the food was. We were not asked whether we were interested in coffee or after dinner drinks. The water was only refilled upon request. 2 of my colleagues ordered duck. They have eaten duck in many places for over 40 years. The duck was undercooked. The desserts were severely delayed, which the waiter blamed on the kitchen. One colleague added soup to the Prix Fix menu. The soup was delivered first as requested, but the salad was delivered when only half of the soup had been eaten. I’ve had better service at semi-fast food restaurants. I was hesitant to write such a review and have not done so in the past. That said, the multiple issues were in totality to egregious to ignore. If you want more details, please contact me. The restaurant did not live up to their reputation. Our friend who recommended the restaurant was mortified. They have been there before and had not had any issues whatsoever.

   Fish special was just okay, not outstanding. Waitress was good, but very rushed, she had too many tables.

    Loved loved loved every part of this experience from the valet parking the beautiful grounds, the warm and crisp, white tablecloth surroundings coolness in the building option of sitting outside option of watching almost professional tennis players. Food was fantastic and the weight service was incredible.
