St. Elmo Steak House has been a landmark in downtown Indianapolis since 1902. It is one of the oldest Indiana restaurants in its original location & has earned a national reputation for its excellent steaks, seafood, chops & professional service. Try our famous St. Elmo Shrimp Cocktail followed by a dry-aged USDA Prime Steak. We happily accommodate special requests; please call the restaurant directly.     Sadly, I tried to reserve a high-top table in the bar on Open Table. When we arrived, there were three tables open, however the hostess refused to seat us there. She said those tables were reserved by patrons who had called to reserve them, and that my request for that table on Open Table was ignored by the restaurant. So what was the point in using Open Table? Our waiter was also crabby, however, as always, food was great.

    Kyle was phenomenal as well as the service overall. There was 11 heads at our table and all of my employees had a fantastic time.

    Most overrated steak house in Indy. I do not recommend… steak is like chewing on a tire. Only thing that was edible was the shrimp cocktail… stay away from Elmo’s, and go to Tony’s if you want a real dinner.
