The duck board was outstanding! In contrast to my previous meal one week ago, the proportion of all the ingredients in the beet salad was perfect. This new preparation of the swordfish with artichokes is fantastic! They complement each other perfectly!

We ordered the duck board and it was excellent, as always. Beet salad, too. The food at Sycamore is consistently great. We've been going there for many years. We didn't get one this time but the soups are always great, too. People are really nice and make us feel very welcome.

We ordered le steak frites which were excellent. The steak was deliciously seasoned and cooked exactly per our request. Should you choose to eat french fries, this is the place to thoroughly indulge and savor each delectable bite--they are well salted and texture perfect. Watercress and nickeled red onions are terrific--allowing to you say you chose this entree for the salad--haha! Our server was delightful and informative; attentive without being intrusive. Additionally, there was a terrific woman who helped us with parking meter because there was 5 feet of snow and we couldn't get near the meter. I think what is most nice is the genuine welcome feeling we experienced upon entering--like they're actually happy to have clients and want you to have a delightful evening.

Since I am a regular patron, I am going to give myself leeway to offer a very specific critique of last night's dinner. First, although I did not partake of it, I understand that the duck board was fantastic as was the kale and farro salad (always a favorite). And I should also note that Kate's service was above and beyond--as always! When you first offered the beet salad, there was thin layer of whipped goat cheese on the bottom of the dish and probably a 1/4 cup of the granola topping. Last night, there were a couple of dollops of the goat cheese on top of the beets and maybe a tablespoon of the granola topping. The deliciousness and success of the dish depends upon the proportion of the different flavors and textures. The proportions are not right now and the dish is not as impressive as it was on the first tasting. On Feb 4, I had a swordfish entree that was excellent. The sauce was delicious and did not overwhelm the fish. It was a great pairing. Last night, there was an overabundance of the bean sauce and it completely overwhelmed the flavor of the swordfish. I'm sorry to be negative but I know how much the staff cares about the quality of the food and the satisfaction of the guests. I also know that your kitchen staff is excellent and that these "mistakes" (for lack of a better word) are just blips on the radar screen. Overall, the consistently excellent quality of the food is the reason we keep coming back! Thank you!

Fantastic food, fantanstic drinks. There are not that many fine food restaurants in Newton, Sycamore is the rare example of the one holding the high quality mark. Enjoyed it a lot.

Easily one of the best meals that I have had in Boston. Excellent service, creative dishes, and delicious execution. Thoroughly enjoyed the Valentine's Day Prix Fixe menu and already looking for an excuse to come back and try the regular menu.

We had reservations for the restaurant, but ended up sitting at the bar. Great bartenders and staff! We really enjoyed the experience and the food was delicious!
