We have been here before and enjoyed it. They struggle with noise level and positioning of some of their tables near the kitchen alley. This visit our server was a little slow (we do know he was busy ) and not that friendly. He was not unfriendly, but he didn’t seem to have too much joy going on! So that’s not very fun when you get all dressed up and go out for a nice meal?:( I got the stroganoff which I’m usually thrilled with. I found it kind of watery and a bit tasteless this time? Noodles, slightly overcooked ? Boo. Lemon cocktail was good. Husband‘s peanut salad was extremely spicy, but he enjoyed it. Overall, we probably won’t go back.

Our server was great! Honestly the best part of the experience was him! The food however was very disappointing and truly don’t understand the hype around the food. We were celebrating a birthday and got the Amish herb chicken and the fish and chips. The chicken was rather bland and the skin was very rubbery and chewy. The whipped potatoes were very bland. The green beans were the best part of this dish and had the most flavor and cooked well! The fish and chips were a miss. The old bay fries were good however lacked seasoning and tasted like frozen fries. The fish itself was a mess. Served a whole fried walleye filet fried on top of the fries in a basket. It was difficult to eat due to being so big and on top of the fries. The breading didn’t stick to the fish at all and was very mushy on one side and very greasy on the other side. Ended up picking off the breading due to it being rather unpleasant to eat. The walleye however itself was flaky and good just lacked flavor due to the breading not being on the fish. For the price of the food and what we received it was extremely disappointing and we left rather hungry still. Overall not worth the money whatsoever.

The food and the service were great and I appreciated that the kitchen made an accomodation for my garlic allergy. We visited the restaurant two times while we were staying in Kansas City over the last two weeks, it's a great go to when you want something good. A few of the tables in along the back of the restaurant have air ducts that blow right down on them which was a bit too chilly on a snowy night. But the staff graciously moved us since there were other tables available. Might want to have an HVAC guy redirect the air so it's not straight down.

The pork chop dinner is one of the best I have ever had. Delicious sauce on the top with fresh sliced mushrooms served with crispy green beans and roasted potatoes.

This local favorite never disappoints. Service and food are always top notch. One of our “go to” places for casual, yet upscale dining.

We went here for a birthday dinner for my wife. I purposefully mentioned on OpenTable that we were celebrating her birthday. No mention of it by staff or server. The service was slow and the place was about 1/3rd full. We ordered a bottle of wine which took at least 20 minutes for the server to come back and tell us that she couldn’t find it so we went with another one. Ordering food was at least 45 minutes into service. Food was ok but nothing blew me away. The bone-in pork chop was overcooked and dry, veggies were bland with no flavor. I won’t be back. There are so many other options around the area.
