   Only thing that was disappointing was being separated from the main restaurant for bringing my toddler. Categorising babies and pets as the same.

   We have been to the Black Swan, Ockham before and enjoyed it. Unfortunately on this occasion the food was not up to standard. The staff are friendly -no problem. I ordered the cheese plate-a real let down- supposed to be 3 cheeses-only 2. No apology at first. Cheap crackers and a bit of chutney. The whole plate was a disgrace- no thought given to presentation. It was a table for 4-our friend ordered apple crumble -she could not eat it as it was burnt. The manager did adjust the bill for which we thanked him. The restaurant was not very busy so there should be no reason for the food to be substandard. My venison was excellent. I expect that we will return but my friends were not impressed. It only takes one substandard meal to lose a customer and I doubt they will return. My main comment is : We appreciate times are difficult -so a restaurant has to go the extra mile to keep it customers and give value for money. I suspect that the A3/M25 massive roadworks impinge on people visiting the restaurant. However, I will return and see how they fare. I hope that this is taken as constructive criticism.

   Always enjoy a meal at the Black Swan, food is delicious and the service is exceptional. Mulled wine wasn't great but they made another batch and it was good. They are very accommodating with our dogs, always makes space for them (x2 are large 7 x1 smallish). I can't praise the staff enough at the Black Swan.

   We were not advised this was a three course meal and most of the choices on offer were poor. We were offered a salad in the middle of Autumn and the beef sauce was far too rich, it actually made me feel ill. All I can say is that it was not Bad but there were 7 of us and no one wants to go back again. The staff were fabulous but it was a seriously overpriced mistake.

   I'm sorry to hear that you didn't enjoy your meal, We will pass on your feedback but we are surprised to hear, as the feedback we had on the food last night as well as your table was extremely positive. Our chef created a menu made from specials for the special event, which we are booked up for well in advance & all of our guests were called in advance to confirm & inform we would be running these specials. The bourguignon is a particularly rich dish and all of our dishes on the evening were sold at the usual price they are throughout the year, we run specials such as fish or steak nights & are freshly made from scratch, priced individually following the company market price and policies which are set for us. We also decided not to ticket or charge any supplements for the event. Regards

   Unfortunately there was one very loud customer which spoilt it for the other customers. My double burger tasted of very cheap meat and I mentioned to the waiter, as feedback ,that there were several bits of gristle in it -had a taste you would expect from a cheap frozen burger not from a lovely pub like the Black Swan. Not worth the £20 that dish cost .My friends meal no problems . As always the staff were lovely and friendly and attentative so that made up for it! Thank you.

    Food was pretty mediocre and it felt like standards have gone downhill in recent years sadly. Place felt a bit uncared for. Such a shame as this was an old favourite.
