Gather at the Blue Pig Tavern, our distinctive restaurant tucked in the corner of Congress Hall. Known for hearty breakfast, lunch and dinner favorites, its name derives from a gambling parlor sited in Congress Hall in the mid-1800s. Earlier still, in the 1700s, Elias Hughes operated a tavern for whalers on this site. It was the first tavern in Cape May. Today, we offer timeless classics and new seasonal delights with ingredients that are always farm-fresh.

    Our first time dining here and we had a lovely lunch. Enjoyed the cozy ambience in the room with a fireplace on a cold day. Enjoyed walking around the hotel and grounds, seeing holiday decorations. Congress Hall is impressive.

    My family of 7 went to the Blue Pig to celebrate my son’s birthday. We all enjoyed tasty appetizers of calamari and mussels and 6 of them rated their entrees as very good. However, I found the salmon entree to be rather “fishy tasting” and mentioned that to my server. With a bill well over $350, I expected better.

    Food was excellent, but service was lacking. Went to lunch with 3 couples and bill was very reasonable only because the server did not know anything about the bar selections. Her lack of knowledge kept us from ordering drinks. Food was served and all were happy. No follow up from the server except to bring the check. Guess we didn’t want anything else! Server had the opportunity to easily double the check. Again, food was great, but don’t expect an experience.

    We visited this venue for both breakfast and lunch and both meal periods were outstanding. Impeccable service combined with tasty phenomenal seasonally appropriate foods always makes Congress Hall a place to visit.

    Food was delicious! We had the short ribs and the fish and chips. Whole restaurant is decorated for Christmas which was so lovely. Will definitely be back!

    What a beautiful, festive setting. Lily, our server, was a delight. The menu is creative and extensive. The beet salad was delicious with thinly sliced beets and radishes over arugula. Light, tasty dressing. The filet as cooked perfectly. It was tender and delicious. The meatloaf is a signature dish and it did not disappoint. Panna cotta for desert was yummy. Can’t say enough about this restaurant. Perfect!!

    We had Thanksgiving dinner here a few years ago and enjoyed it very much so we decided to do it again. we loved the room by the fire the first time, but since we had a larger group (8) we had to sit in the other room. it was nice but not at romantic as the fire place room. overall it was very nice and met our expectations.
