Open seven days a week, The Capital Grille is best known for our expertly prepared steaks, which are dry aged in house for 18 to 24 days and then hand-cut by our restaurant's on-premise butcher. The Capital Grille's wine list features more than 350 selections, and its floor-to-ceiling wine kiosk regularly houses 3,500 - 5,000 bottles. Reservations are recommended but not required.     We have tried many capital grille restaurants. This one is not up to par. The champagne was flat. Lobster risotto had a thick gel like texture absolutely horrendous. Entrees were disappointing. Would not recommend this capital grille.

    We had a lovely dinner for Indy Decour before seeing a show at IRT. They had a fried lobster appetizer that was delicious as well as tasty salads and lobster bisque. Our mains were OK. The salmon came with a nice crust but was ultimately a bit dry. The Kona NY strip was decent - it was cooked to temp perfectly, but was tougher than expected and lacking in flavor. Dessert of cheesecake and flourless chocolate cake were tasty. Service was excellent - hats off to Michael P. Overall a good dinner, but we e certainly had better mains at downtown restaurants.

    Every single detail was perfect. From the manager Andrea and hostess greeting us at the door (helping us find a table that was far from the cool draft), to our server’s (Frankie) sweet and friendly nature. I had a long day of travel and their warm reception was everything I needed. The beet salad was the best I have eaten. The mashed potatoes were perfect and my steak was seasoned to perfection as well. The Capital Grille is exceptional ( always!)

    Ambience was great. Love the paintings on the wall, the lighting, and the overall atmosphere. I must say that the steak au poivre and the sea bass were very unseasoned (the pepper on the steak just didn't translate to a well-seasoned steak). Drinks didn't always seem well-mixed. Strong wine collection. Overall, though, I can't say the price was worth the food we ate.

    Simply, it is an excellent experience with consistent food and flavor. It's kind of an expensive lunch, but you know that going in. It's always a pleasant time, and I look forward to going back again to enjoy another evening dinner. While Capital Grille is a chain steakhouse, it doesn't act like others in this genre that rely on a name only and accept mediocre staff and dismal food.
