We had an excellent experience doing a 3-course dinner here. The students were very enthusiastic to learn and everything was well prepared. The mussels were excellent, with flavourful broth. The fattoush salad was refreshing and well seasoned. The duck was superb and the panna cotta was heavenly and sharp! If I had any feedback it would be that the bread was slightly overdone, the old fashioned could have been smokier, and the Black Forest cake could have been slightly more moist. But those are easy corrections. I will definitely be back to support this great place for student learning.

Highly recommend! The food was excellent. An eclectic menu with lots of variety. Service was top notch. As this is a culinary and hospitality school, you can’t beat the value. At a « traditional » restaurant in Toronto, you would pay two or three times what you do here AND you are supporting students. Win win! We will definitely go again.

Our server was extremely knowledgeable about the items on the menu . The fact that we were asked about allergies is in itself worth 5 stars. I had made a special request when I made my reservation pertaining to a birthday message on a chocolate dessert and our server was aware of it (the dessert was delicious). I was surprised regarding the no gratuity policy; my previous visit was as a guest. That said I was very happy to donate the equivalent to the scholarship fund.

Great overall. But I thought they should allow us to bring a birthday cake without charging us 5$ per slice. That was a bit much.

The experience as a whole was amazing, from the setting to the ambience. At times it did really feel like a school as the students were being coached on what are the dos/don'ts. The two aspects here are the service, drinks, and the food. The service was a bit awkward, in the beginning things were going out of order, like we almost got the dessert before the appetizers. And then had to go back and forth with our waiter to ensure that the whole order was taken, which was incomplete on two occasions :) The "strawberry iced tea" tasted like diluted water with strawberry flavor. Was really bad, probably the only complaint of the night The food was spot on and the portions were generous especially for the price point. Got the lamb shank and the sea bass as mains. The mussels (10/10) and tartare as appetizers and the pana cota (10/10) and pears for dessert

There were 4 of us celebrating a birthday. We got their earlier when it first opened. While we respect this is a teaching facility, the service was attentive but slow. Food on point for all four dishes with only minor critiques. Everything was beautifully presented. We had pan seared sea bass, duck confit, lamb shank & kochucha risotto. Highly recommend this restaurant as a fun experience.

The food was stellar. Better than some high end restaurants I’ve been to. Server Alex was friendly and informative. I was pleasantly surprised how enjoyable the experience at The Chef’s House was. Good job!
