The Garrison Public House is a bustling neighbourhood restaurant at the heart of Bermondsey Streets creative community and just a short skip from the comestible delights of Borough Market. We take full advantage of being an independent restaurant; from our quirky, inimitable interior to our considered wine list and engaging staff, we make sure everything we do is done with The Garrison style. Staff were friendly and attentive. Menu was not large but food was tasty. Took a little while to arrive but when it did it was hot and fresh.

A busy Sunday lunch at The Garrison. Service friendly but chaotic - seemed like some staff didn't know what they were doing e.g. walking around with coffee not knowing where it was going. Atmosphere generally a bit manic. Noise level of music & conversations were high so not possible to have a conversation involving all in our group of 6. Probably OK if only 2 or 4 people. 2 of us each had muscles for starter - minuscule portions. We laughed because it was so pathetic. 10 small muscles served in what looked like a small finger bowl. Had to ask 3 times for the toasted focaccia that was supposed to be served with it by which time the muscles were long gone. Tasty but extremely overpriced for the portion size served. Main courses were significantly better. Generous portions & tasty food, but the pork was overcooked & chicken in part undercooked. Out of Banoffi pie so didn't have dessert. Based on our experience, surprised The Garrison is so well regarded on Gastro Pub listings. Maybe staff & kitchen were having an off day?

The fish & chips was mostly batter, and very little fish. The quality of the food has declined a lot over the past few years. Big dissappointment. The host was also not nice. I would not recommend this restaurant.

Excellent food, staff and overall experience. Came for a Sunday roast and we were really well looked after by the staff. Great atmosphere too. Cannot fault the experience
