The Grain House Restaurant is located on the picturesque 10-acre estate of the Olde Mill Inn in Basking Ridge, NJ. The Grain House structure was originally built as a barn in the 1760’s and was used to store grain for American Revolutionary soldiers. The barn was later moved to its current location and opened as a restaurant in the 1930’s.
Today, the Grain House is a renowned restaurant in North/Central New Jersey, with a comfortable, casual ambiance. The restaurant serves innovative, traditional and contemporary interpretations of American cuisine with some added international accents, prepared under the direction of Executive Chef John Benjamin. Delicious homemade desserts complete the menus, which are revised several times a year. Outdoor patio dining and fireside dining are available in season.
The restaurant offers lunch and dinner daily, as well as a special breakfast/lunch a la carte menu offered on Saturdays from 11 am to 4pm. Sunday 11am to 3 pm.

    Our reservations were for a Friday night at 6 pm so we expected that this would be a busy time and it was. We had requested to sit in the pub/bar area, and we were accommodated. I personally like this room better than the main dining area. Service was attentive though staff was busy. Food was very good. The small plate offerings are creative and different. Our group did soup with a small plate or burgers. Burgers are a little pricey but do come with salad or fries, so a good value overall. Nice night out. Ambiance great with a burning fireplace and cozy atmosphere.

    As always, the food and service were outstanding. Manager Tony runs a great operation. Dave, Patrick and Debbie (as well as all the staff) make patrons feel like family. It’s obvious that all involved are very proud of the Grain House and truly enjoy working as a team. The result is a top notch dining experience. Many thanks!

    We loved it! Had a wonderful lunch in a lovely setting. The food was excellent as was the service. Carried menu. Right off of 287 and ample parking. We are already planning to go again!

    Everything was as usual, as we go here often for the best burgers around. This was the first time the burgers came out, not cold, but not straight off the grill! Was still very good, but one of the best thing about their burgers is they would always come to table piping hot and juicy. Will absolutely continue to go here!
