The Smoking Goat is an award-winning California-French bistro located in the heart of North Park, San Diego. We have received the Gold Medallion for the best French Bistro in San Diego three years running.

Inspired by his European Farm-to-Table up-bringing and culinary training at Le Cordon Bleu Paris, Executive Chef and Owner Fred Piehl, marries classic French cuisine with the bounty of San Diego in a way that is rustic, yet refined, imaginative, yet unpretentious.

The dinners served feature in-season local, sustainable and organic ingredients and provide guests with a unique culinary experience, reminiscent of the European countryside.

    Very good good just for a pre fixed amount should have included some type of roses especially for valentines. More valentines decor.

    Smoking Goat restaurant does not disappoint. They are extremely accommodating when it comes to special requests and reservation changes. French onion soup and grilled octopus were delicious!

    My husband and I enjoyed a great meal at The Smoking Goat. The duck fat French fries are a must! We started our meal with the crispy Spanish octopus appetizer, which was delicious. Then for our main dishes, I had the roasted chicken which was moist, and very flavorful. My husband had the steak frites, also a great dish We finished our night with their creme brûlée. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting a great date night!

    The Smoking Goat is always reliable for an excellent meal. Best Escargot in town. The duck was fantastic. In general, going out is getting expensive and TSG is no exception. But it is what it is.

    The staff was extremely friendly and professional, and went above and beyond to make the experience memorable. The food was outstanding, and the Restaurant Week deal can’t be beat. We were on the enclosed patio, and noise did make talking a little difficult, but overall we had a great evening.

    Good food and nice place will try again> We went early at 6PM and had no problems but when we left it was very crowed and as they said parking is not easy but that is the city problem in North Park
