The world famous Walnut Room has been a Chicago tradition since 1907. Located on the 7th floor of Macy's on State Street, the Walnut Room was the first restaurant ever opened in a department store. Conveniently located in the heart of the Chicago theater district, the Walnut Room is an excellent choice to take a break from shopping or for a meal and a glass of wine before the show.
Enjoy our Famous Mrs. Herring's Chicken Pot Pie and other well known favorites on the menu.

Food was mid. Did not get to really be around the tree and decor. Whole reason to go.

We came down for my daughter's first Walnut Room experience and it was nothing short of amazing. Our server Lex was so kind and attentive, he took his time to go over the menu and answer questions, and despite how busy it was he did not rush his time with us at all. I had the salmon which was so yummy, and my mom got the burger that came with the worlds best fries. My daughter had the mac and cheese which she talked about the whole way home bc it was 'the cheesiest' (step aside Kraft) it was such a great time and of course the winter fairies made it even more magical.

Jessica P was one of the best waitresses I’ve had anywhere in Chicago. She was super kind, attentive, and went above and beyond to make our first time great.

We had the most magical experience. I have a son with a dairy allergy and Diamond worked so hard to make sure he was safe. She was extra kind to my children and truly helped us make the best memories. My youngest son had to take a picture with her before we left so he could remember her. Thank you for a magical start to the holiday season!
