   Wow! It was a dream come true! I have lived here my whole life and had never been. FINALLY, my friend and I got to experience Tojo’s. My late mom was Japanese . I have been to Japan several times. Tojo’s took me back to Japan. The sushi rice is perfect. The Tojo Maki (the original California roll) is unlike any other and we really enjoyed the Great Pacific Roll. The servers, service, presentation of the dishes & timing in between dishes was so good. I will definitely go back and try some other dishes

   I used to eat at Tojo's original location; upon returning to Vancouver after 28 years, we thought to give it a try again. We found the atmosphere to be quite dead, the restaurant space cavernous. As far as food, the quality was good, but incredibly expensive, We had Tojo's selection of sashimi (8 pieces), a couple of small rolls and one temaki (hand roll/cone), which totalled $150.00. I know a few other places where the same selection of food of similar quality would cost less than half the price. We left, hungry and decided to eat a meal down the street a few doors.

   Food and service were both spectacular! Each plate of food was presented with such prize and exquisitely plated. Staff was very friendly and made the whole experience even more enjoyable.

   We were EXTREMELY disappointed by the experience. We drove from White Rock and have been trying to try this restaurant for years. What a disappointment from the quality of the food, the atrocious presentation, it was so over priced and absolutely nothing special but the sake!! What an absolute Disappointment, even the sushi rice in the rolls was not good. A couple seated at the table next to us agreed, there first and last time. Absolutely no value. Never go back, unfortunately what a bad experience....lots of parking available (I think I know why)

   Wished they used fresh grated wasabi as the paste downgraded the experience. Tojo roll was good, but was not rolled out evenly, we even found shell in one of the pieces, not what I expected from this restaurant. Asked for our tea to be filled up; but a new pot came and was charged for it, wouldn’t mind paying but would have been nice to have a heads up. The hon maguro toro was the highlight.
