Valenza is a cozy, upscale Italian eatery in Brookhaven. It takes its name from a small village in the Piedmonte region of Northern Italy. Valenza is well known throughout the world for its artisan jewelry manufacturing which has earned it the nickname “city of gold”. The cuisine at VALENZA is inspired by the diverse culture of Northern Italy. Executive Chef Matt Swickerath’s focus is on classic and modern cooking methods using fresh seasonal and local ingredients to create a classic Italian menu with an updated culinary touch. The menu features a variety of antipasti, pasta, risotto and Italian entrees. Valenza has the heart and spirit of a cozy and warm Italian village café in an upscale setting. The dining room features venetian plastered walls with rustic oak and pine woods. Experience the warmth and elegance of Valenza when dining under the antique European candle chandeliers. Valenza offers a wonderful private dining room with seating for 30 guests.

We make it to Valenza every month or two and always have a great experience. The pasta is exceptional and I usually enjoy their specials. Last night we tried the tiramisu for the first time and I regret knowing about that. It was so good! I feel like I will have to order it every time we return now. I asked and they said they make it fresh everyday. We always start with the bread, I think the focaccia is the best. Either way you won’t be disappointed!

The restaurant is small, dark and rather packed. I reserved a table, and they seated me in a nice, recessed booth. The noise level there was still above average. The service was good. The fritto misto was a generous portion - mostly calamari with two small shrimp and a tiny piece of cod. The dipping sauces were flavorful. The Caesar salad was average, and the white chocolate bread pudding was more like a slice of dense cake - a little crisp on top. I didn't taste any white chocolate flavor. The dark chocolate gelato that topped it was outstanding and tasted homemade. My partner had the butternut ravioli and said it was excellent. If I go back, I'll stick with just a pasta dish and gelato.

Food and service were excellent. We were a party of ten. Our server worked extremely well with our varying requests. She made great recommendations, all food was served promptly and at the same time. We thoroughly enjoyed the evening. Would dine here again.

Valenza has been and continues to be our favorite restaurant in Atlanta, but drink prices are just getting crazy. $21.50 for a manhattan. C'mon man!

Another fabulous meal… the ravioli was best yet and the spaghettini was delicious… best meatballs I’ve ever had. The tiramisu was the perfect ending.
