My wife and I recently dined at the bar of Vintage Chophouse Wine Bar at the Inn at Bay Harbor, Autograph Collection, and it was a fantastic experience. The bar area had a warm, inviting atmosphere—perfect for a relaxing evening with great food and drinks. We started with two glasses of Vieux Chateau Saint Andre. The Vint Old Fashion and Elijah Craig selections were expertly crafted and well-balanced, setting the tone for an enjoyable meal. For dinner, we ordered a Mushroom Bisque, a Wedge salad, and the Filet Mignon. Every dish was perfectly prepared—the bisque was velvety with deep, earthy flavors, the salad crisp and refreshing, and the filet was cooked to perfection, tender and flavorful. We ended the meal with an Espresso Martini, a smooth and indulgent conclusion to a great dining experience. The service was attentive without being intrusive, and the quality of both the food and drinks made the evening memorable. We highly recommend Vintage Chophouse Wine Bar for anyone looking for an elevated dining experience in Bay Harbor.

My steak was way overcooked. When it was sent back it took 20 minutes to get a new one, which was odd given it was a re-fire, it was my birthday dinner, and we had a restless toddler at the table. It also took 20 minutes for them to “find” the wine I ordered. It would have been nice to have been offered something to make this right, given it was my birthday and the prices are so high. UPDATE: the manager spoke with me and made it right. They definitely care about their guests and had an off night. Not an excuse, but since they remedied the situation I give them extra stars and two thumbs up! Bottom line: get the walleye or burger, which are incredible! Stars of the show.

Nice, quiet, classy! Food and service were top-notch. Pricey, but not unexpected for a high-end hotel.

An Exceptional Evening at The Vintage Chophouse & Wine Bar We had the pleasure of dining at The Vintage Chophouse this evening, and the experience was nothing short of outstanding. From the moment we arrived, the ambiance was warm and inviting — a perfect blend of classic elegance and relaxed lakeside charm. The service was impeccable — attentive without being intrusive, and every member of the staff made us feel welcome and well cared for throughout the evening. The menu showcased a thoughtful balance of traditional steakhouse favorites and refined seasonal selections. Our entrées were expertly prepared — the filet mignon was tender and full of flavor, and the fresh accompaniments elevated the dish beautifully. The wine list is impressively curated, offering a range of selections to suit every palate, and the dessert menu provided a sweet finish to a flawless meal. All in all, The Vintage Chophouse delivers a truly memorable dining experience. Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or simply enjoying a night out, this is a must-visit destination in Northern Michigan.

The walleye was done to perfection and the presentation was very nice. The burger my wife enjoyed was marvelous. We preceded it all by sharing a vintage salad that was great!

I’m a local and come to vintage 2-3 times a year. The food is always excellent, the view is amazing, never had a problem with service but probably the most expensive meal in the area. It’s a very small dining room and loses a bit of charm when it’s full. I’ve not had a bad experience here and always use it as my “go-to” for a special meal.

We went to Vintage Chophouse for dinner after reviewing the menu we saw online. Unfortunately the menu on open table and some online sites did not reflect the most accurate menu they offer. My husband I both struggled with ordering for that reason. Of the items we came for none were currently on the menu. I found almost every dish they offered was a mushroom base. This meant the one chicken dish the one non seafood small plate and the one pasta dish all had an abundance of mushrooms. I do not mind mushrooms but it was not somthing I came for nor wanted in every course. We ended up ordering the braised short rib , and the quinoa and curry dish. I added a twice bake potato and leak potato soup on to start. The food came out fast. The potato leak soup was not what i expected instead of having a savory taste it carried a heavy butternut squash / nutmeg flavor. If you like that this soup would be perfect however I do not care for sweet dessert like soups. The curry dish was good. Nothing i’d run back for but a unique dish that didn’t disappoint. My husband liked his short rib , it was tender as it should be it lacked a sauce but overall it was very good. The show stopper of the night was the giant twice baked potato. It was huge and came out bubbling and delicious. The potato itself could have been a meal. Service was good not great but good no complaints. We were sat at a table by the bar so no view or anything special. This was disappointing because I had noted we’d be celebrating our anniversary. My hope was at least a table that was more private or with a view outside. We did not get offered dessert so after our meal we left. So over all it wasn’t a bad dinner but it was nothing special or standout. I’d say we will not be back and to look elsewhere if you want more bang for your buck.
