Enjoyed Vitello’s quite a lot. Went on Monday night in December and sat outside. There were no other diners around us hence the quiet.😉. Had the bread appetizer, a Hangar 64 (very good and citrusy) a Hugo, the carbonara and the puttanesca and glass on Montepulciano. Ended with decent espressos. The pasta was top notch, not quite Italy, but one of the best I’ve had in LA (low bar I realize) and similar to above average places in New York, NY. The staff were super friendly and quick. The only minor hiccup was having to ask for dinnerware and napkins once our mains arrived. Quickly remedied though. Highly recommend if in North Hollywood/Burbank/WeHo even out to Reseda or Glendale

First time here but friends raved about past entertainment visits. Thought I would check the food part out. The seafood was on point BUT my friends salad was a bit embarrassing - wilted lettuce and nothing too spectacular. I would not have let that leave the kitchen if I were the chef. Just trying to help :)

We used to visit Vitellos back in the day when movie stars and actors from TV used to go there. When it was a "red sauce" type place, with paintings on the wall, cozy booths, and a large back room. Then we moved away from the area and stopped going for awhile. When we returned it was under new ownership and there were some changes. There was another change of ownership since that time as well. (The restaurant's menu details the history of ownership in it). The patio outside, which started due to Covid back when that was the only way one could dine at a restaurant looks much more permanent now. The inside has been redone during the past few years. Gone are the tablecloths, the complimentary bread (not even offered as a purchasable item on the menu now), the art and the Italian music. Now, it is hard floors, noisy in the front room, cold a/c running even when the air is cold outside. Spare table decorations. The noise from the front bar, and the "private room" by the entry makes it hard to have conversation at the table. That being said, the food was very good (Seafood Risotto was top class) and the Cacio e Pepe was respectable and well portioned. Spumoni Cake was delicious. Our waiter Colin was on top of things, and we enjoyed a nice meal and will return. Next time we will speak up about the a/c running when it was in the low 60's outside, and perhaps ask to be seated in one of the few booths a bit more away from the main room bar. But it was a nice evening nonetheless. Sad that the room upstairs is now just really it seems for Jazz performers and another bar in addition to the one in the main room and the one in the speakeasy room in the back....We remember the days when the room upstairs was Feinsteins.

OMG, the hostess was so nice about my being late. I really appreciated that . She got us set right away when we came in. Our server was so nice. He was definitely easy to talk to and to be around. He has great hair, by the way. 👍 The issue was the food. The Caesar salad was just OK. The bread and butter were absolutely delicious.❤️❤️ The mussels I ordered were a bit gritty. I couldn’t finish them off . It was really disappointing. My friend ordered a seafood pasta. The pasta itself really had no flavor. I think the worst part was when she stopped eating it because she said one of the clams was bad (tasted spoiled). That would ruin anyone’s appetite. The staff is excellent , but the food is not so much. I had heard so many great things about this place. So disappointed with the food, I still want to come back because you gotta try again sometimes.

Always a good experience no matter the time of day. Food is consistently delicious and the attentive service always comes with a smile. As an additional bonus, mock-tails are generous and well made. This is a go-to spot.

The food, the ambiance, the service, the neighborhood… brilliant. The only thing that would put it over the top would be a secret room that you enter through a bookcase or something like that.
