I have tried Waypoint a few times now, and it is consistently underwhelming. On the most recent visit we were seated more than fifteen minutes after our reservation time, and it was another twenty minutes before drinks arrived from the bar. Entrees for three people arrived more than an hour after we arrived at the restaurant, and getting the bill settled took us past the two hour mark. For two beverages and a one course meal, this is no good, even if they were "slammed," as we repeatedly heard. Spending all of that time in a boxy annex/event space room that looked like something in a chain hotel would have been okay if the food and service had been better. The seafood bucatini was swimming in a thin sauce that tasted good, but never had a chance to cling to the pasta. The steakhouse salad was a disappointment. After getting rare instead of medium rare food once again, it's clear that you need to order one degree of doneness more than you want, and the chef will compensate in the other direction accordingly. The salad also came with inedible chunks of pink tomatoes that had been roasted along with onions to within an inch of their recognizable form. Surely a chef would know of better options than trying to fool people with out of season produce. And for the prices they charge at Waypoint, we deserve a little better. I did hear a good report about the fish and chips. All in all, there are better options in Williamsburg for seafood, and ambience, and service. Stick to lunch at Waypoint.

We were very disappointed in our experience! The service was extremely slow! It took an hour and a half to get our food and the only part we enjoyed were the charcuterie board as an appetizer. I asked for a glass of wine that took almost 30 minutes to get which they brought after we had paid the check and were leaving!

The food my son-in-law received was no edible and had to be returned. No substitution was made. Three of the 6 diners became ill which can be attributed to the food.

Everything about our meal was exceptional - so much so, we went back two nights later! The service was fabulous, as was the food! We will be back on our next trips to Williamsburg. Thanks so much.

Ordered the fritters, crab soup and filet Oscar. The fritters came out cold and we're mediocre. The crab soup was delicious. The steak Oscar came out cold. We asked for them to fix this. They took it back and reheated it. You don't reheat a $65 steak but this is how the manager handled this. The reheat made the steak more cooked and not to order, the mashed patatos were still cold that came with it. It was clear the manager didn't care about our dinner. After complaining, he discounted the steak down to $50. I had a better steak at Outback for 1/2 the price. They should have made this right by giving us a new steak cooked right but didn't. So our dinner was not good and was expensive and management this Sunday night didn't seem to care. We won't be coming back. They did say "thank you for letting us know" about the food quality, which was just like rubbing it in that they served us a bad dish and didn't care.

I highly recommend this restaurant. The food was incredible. I had the scallops with mushroom rossito and my boyfriend had the special of the day which was swordfish with rice and a special sauce with crab. Both were so good. Lots of flavor and perfectly seasoned. Our waiter Camden was the sweetest. I would definitely go back on my next visit to Williamsburg.
