Awesome evening at Wood Tavern. We took the recommendations of our waiter Wes, to get the pork chop and half chicken, along with the brussel sprouts. Excellent recommendations! Best pork chop I have ever had, the sauce was absolutely extraordinary. And we can't say enough about our waiter Wes - he is the best! He said he is normally the bartender and was just pitching in that night, but you would think he had years of experience at 5* restaurants with how good he was. Should definitely think of moving to the other side of the bar more often! As a Cal alum here for The Big Game, we visit here 2-3x from our home in Florida, and will definitely be back to Wood Tavern.

Our third visit to Wood Tavern and consistently outstanding food in a very comfortable, relaxed setting. Salmon tartare 5/5 Arugula with mission fig salad 5/5 Bucatini Bolognese 5/5 ( great seasoning with a nice spicey touch) 1/2 chicken 5/5- takes chicken to another level! Great Manhattans/Great wine list! GO-EAT-ENJOY!

Certainly not how I remembered from a few years back. The menu looked close to the same with a few new items. I ordered the burger, and the bun was slightly burned. The meat was good but not great like it used to be. I imagine their source for beef has changed. We also ordered gnocchi and it was drenched in a garlic heavey sauce that did not allow the gnocchi texture or flavor to come out. Brussel Sprouts and chokes were great. Good appetizer. Tomato soup was like Campbell with some chili oil layered on top. It was ok if you liked Campbell's growing up as a child. Beer was good,wine was good, but a few bucks overpriced. We had a good server. She was attentive and very friendly. But her and another staff fellow kept wanting to pick up our plates before we were done. I wonder if their Bloody Mary's were as good as we remembered them being. I don't think we'll go back to check. Maybe they had an off night but my guess is they've changed owners.

Outstanding food; impeccable service. The gnocchi and burrata starters were divine - fresh, flavorful and perfectly balanced. The perfectly fired ribeye was the best we’ve had anywhere (and this is saying a lot!)
